Storage Choice Teams With WebWorks

March 9, 2011

Westwood, KS – Storage Choice has launched a new website this week (www.storagechoice.com) after recently partnering with WebWorks web marketing services. WebWorks is a new business unit of Red Nova Labs, the company that built and operates StorageFront (www.storagefront.com) and Self Storage Marketing Ahead (www.selfstoragemarketingahead.com).

Storage Choice, which owns and operates ten self storage facilities throughout Texas, had decided to update its website in an effort to improve usability and overall lead conversions—the number of online shoppers who actually reserve storage space through the site.

“Our previous website was not very user friendly,” Storage Choice president Paul Glover said. “It had a cool look to it, but customers had a hard time navigating around.”

The new website offers a streamlined navigation system, with renter-friendly categories and a “store finder” similar to StorageFront’s. Other changes include Google maps showing Storage Choice facility locations (with driving directions), a space calculator, and regularly-updated storage tips. Of course, customers also have the ability to reserve storage units online.

“We focus on two things when building the renter-facing side of the site: usability and search engine optimization,” said Tom Cox, WebWorks’ Web Visibility Manager.

“Naturally, we want our clients’ pages to show up on Google’s prominent pages for their local search terms, but we aren't willing to sacrifice usability or integrity to get there. Fortunately, Google makes every effort to reward good, usable sites. So we made Storage Choice's new site easy for users, while design techniques that help with SEO were a close second priority.”

Paul Glover decided to go with WebWorks because of the traffic and sales results StorageFront has produced for Storage Choice. Storage Choice was the first self storage company to agree to list its facilities on StorageFront.

“I have come to respect StorageFront for their innovation and web knowledge,” Glover said. “I looked at a couple of websites that WebWorks had done and was very impressed. The storage calculator is also very impressive.”

WebWorks has already provided Storage Choice with a website design, and as part of the service, WebWorks will continue to develop the site with content management tools, SEO services, and web marketing consulting.

Unlike conventional web design agencies that build a website, deliver a finished product, and then walk away — typically charging extra fees for additional help — the newly formed WebWorks team will constantly monitor the sites it builds and seek ways to improve them.

“We will be providing Storage Choice with monthly reports on how we have increased their search engine results page rank (SERP) for the keywords we have optimized, while also explaining exactly how we did it,” Cox said. “We want our product and service to be as transparent and educational as possible.”
